Five Friday Favorites 04/24/15

in Everyday, Simple Pleasures on 04/24/15

Hey there! It’s Friday, and that really couldn’t sound better right now. It’s the start of midterm season around here, so pretty much everything is crazy. That said, after my math exam yesterday, I took most of the rest of the day off of work. That means today will be full of reading and laundry, but it was totally worth it for some downtime. And now let’s end the week in a happy way - with some favorites!

  • Target trips

Target is easily one of my favorite stores ever, and I usually walk out having bought a little more than I intended. This was part of yesterday’s relaxation. I picked up some necessary stuff and some fun stuff, and you see most of the fun stuff there.

  • Playoff hockey

My team (the Columbus Blue Jackets) definitely did not make the playoffs, and I’m also not really following as closely as I usually do. Still, I like seeing the highlights and watching clips from the night before while I’m at the gym in the morning. At school, I don’t pay nearly as much attention to hockey as I do at home, but I still absolutely do love it.

  • Adventure Time

{Source}

It’s quick and funny and sweet and watchable. I just really love it.

  • Far too much chocolate

I think I have 6 different types going right now. And that’s down from 9 to start the week. Shhh. I don’t have a problem. Except I so totally do.

  • An In-Depth Look At Hermione As Described In The “Harry Potter” Books Vs. The Movies

“While some might debate casting someone as beautiful as Emma Watson for the role of Hermione (and then not changing her hair and teeth), with more research it is clear that Hermione is continually described based on her intelligence and personality and not her appearance.”

Yes. That.

Do you love Target as much as I do?

What’s your favorite spectator sport?

Thoughts on Harry Potter?

What are some of your favorites from the week?

I always enjoyed shopping at Target…while it lasted (all of the Canadian stores have recently gone out of business!). Hockey is also my favourite spectator sport! And Harry Potter will always have a place in my heart — speaking of, you’ll appreciate Harry Potter Retold By People Who’ve Never Read It (on YouTube) 🙂

Sad about Canadian Target 🙁 I’d heard they weren’t quite as awesome as American Targets and just didn’t go over as well. I totally grew up on Harry Potter, so it holds quite the special spot in my heart, too. And yes, I’ve seen that! So great 😀

Gosh, I love Target! THere’s an exclusive flavor at Ben & Jerry’s that you can only get at Target, so that ends up being part of my purchase more often that not 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend, Ellen!

Wait, whaaaat? What flavor? I’ve gotta try that! Thanks, Liv! You, too 🙂

I never go to Target…like maybe once a year…..hahaha! I’ll try to go more when I get home…since everyone LOVES it so dearly!

Go! Or… don’t. Either it’ll be overhyped or you’ll spend a ton 😉 But, yes, I’d give it a shot!

I love Target! I always find such great things in their dollar area!

Same! I wish that was the only place I found great stuff there… it’d save some money 😉

I’m just getting into hockey this year and I’m loving it. I’ve been cheering on the Minnesota Wild only because Wisconsin doesn’t have a team and a guy I know likes the Wild. Ha! I’m definitely more of an NFL girl, though. And yes omg, LOVE Target. I get in so much trouble there! Have a good weekend!

I definitely enjoy football, too 🙂 Yep, Target is the best and the worst allllll at once. Thanks, Jessie! You, too!

I went to Target this week to buy a few food items and ended up spending $50 on a bunch of other stuff! Haha. So hard to resist all those clearance items!
Football is definitely my favorite spectator sport. But I do love hockey- I’m a big Detroit Red Wings fan. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!

Haha I always leave Target with more than I intended 😉 Football and hockey are my two faves. Admittedly, I tend to root against most teams from Michigan, but I respect ’em nonetheless 😀 Have a great weekend, Mel!

<3 Target!! I second the comment from above - it was sad when they left Canada. However, the US stores were always FAR better! I'm lucky enough to live in a border city, so I can access them on the weekend if needed. It's definitely a store you can go into for one item, and leave with 5 bags of stuff… mostly candy. LOL.
I'm not a big fan of traditional spectator sports, but other stuff interests me - like those Ninja Warrior course races. Pros make too much money for me to support 😉

Target certainly has an impressive array of sweet stuff (and other stuff 😉 ). I almost always leave with new chocolate/candy to try!
Hmm I’ve never heard of those sorts of races. Might have to check them out! Have a great weekend, Ashleigh!

I can’t even go into Target anymore, I want everything and it’s a problem! Could seriously spend a lifetime in there. Now you made me want to go haha 🙂

I could wander around for hours. Heck, I could live in a Target 😉 Hate to be an enabler, but treat yourself to a trip! 🙂
