Happy Friday to you! How was your week? I’d say that since I’m officially done with midterms, mine was a pretty good one. It’s going to be a busy weekend for me, but before we get to that, let’s look back at our favorites from the week. Ready? Okay!
A care package
{This was last year’s, but this week’s was similar.}
My grandparents, lovely humans that they are, sent me a Valentine’s care package of chocolate and chocolate-filled trail mix and a Chipotle gift card. They’re the best. It made my day on Wednesday!
Nike sweatpants
I have never really been a “sweatpants” person. Yoga pants, sure. Sweatpants, nah. I realized I wanted a pair of sweatpants, though, so that I could pull them on over shorts to wear to the gym. Because our gym is hot and it’s uncomfortable to run in leggings there. Why be even hotter and sweatier than you need to be? So, over winter break, I got these sweatpants . I fell in love. I can’t explain why I never liked sweatpants before, but I love these so much that I bought a second pair so I can have a pair that’s clean to throw on to get cozy after a long day and a pair that I can pull on post-run or post-yoga when I’m all sweaty. They’re the best.
The West Wing

This is one of my favorite background-noise shows. Basically, that means I’ve seen it so many times that I can just turn it on and zone out. If I can’t fall asleep to Harry Potter, this is a surefire way to at least calm me down and often that’s enough to make me fall asleep. Also, it’s great for when I want something on while I’m doing homework.
Much like Gilmore Girls, the dialogue is too witty to be realistic and the characters are larger than life and a little obnoxious, but I adore the show nonetheless.
“Naps”
Yesterday, when I came back from my midterm and ate lunch, I was exhausted. So sleepy, so done. I could have tried to get some work done with the help of too many snacks and some caffeine, but in the name of self care, I decided to curl up with my quilt and take a “nap”. The quotation marks might give it away, but no sleep happened. Still, I just chilled out and listened to Harry Potter and played Candy Crush and it was lovely.
College Break Day
We randomly don’t have class today! We always get a day off in the middle of winter quarter because the only holiday we get in the winter is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and one day off per quarter is not enough. It’s just not. Frankly, I’m spending the day doing laundry and econ homework, but it’s nice to not go to class sometimes, ya know?
Aside from that, I’ll be spending the weekend writing a crime story due next week. And running, yoga-ing, cooking, and grocery shopping. Talk to you next week!
Your turn:
What are you loving this week?
Do you have fun plans for the weekend?
Your grandparents are the BEST! I hit the jackpot when I married your dad…the most amazing, supportive, loving in-laws on this planet.
My favorite thing about them is seeing how much they adore you. Not just through care packages, but being engaged with you all through your life. Felt dolls, fishing, pounce, piñatas, life discussions, coloring, talking about your friends, classes, everyday stuff.
My world would not be as happy or sane without these amazing people. They are my Friday Favorite every week.
Dang, those grandparents. Your mom pretty much said it: jackpot.
And I might have just ordered a pair of those sweatpants (and on sale, boom!)
your grandparents are so sweet!! 🙂 I love under armour sweatpants. This week I’ve been loving listening to podcasts!
Your grandparents are just the sweetest; I LOVE getting care packages. They seriously brighten up a whole day.
And an off day from classes sounds like a wonderful day to catch up on all the things! :o)
